Workstation Technician (Level II)

Description:

Our client is a growing computer consulting company in New Castle, Delaware that provides computer and network consulting services for small businesses. We have an immediate opening for a candidate who is looking for an exciting and challenging position working with many different systems and end users.

This is level 2 desk side support position. It involves installing and supporting workstations and peripheral devices on Windows networks. Typical work includes hardware and software support on PC's, Mac's, network equipment and Windows servers.
Candidates must also have a good working knowledge of some or all of the following:
•Windows desktop operating systems
•MS Office
•MS Outlook in an Exchange Server environment
•Spyware removal
•MS Exchange
•Terminal Server/ Citrix
•Backup Exec and other backup and restore software
•Symantec Enterprise antivirus software
•Disk imaging software
•IIS Server
•SQL Server
•Network printers
•Routers
•Firewalls
•Network Connectivity
•Computer hardware upgrade and repair

Requirements:

Candidates must meet the following job requirements to be considered:
•Two or four year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or a related engineering discipline
•Minimum 4 years experience in implementing or supporting devices on a Windows network
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Strong troubleshooting skills
•Highly professional demeanor
•Knowledge of desktop hardware and software including MS Windows XP and 7, MS Office
•Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
•Strong work ethic, highly motivated and the ability to work independently
•Capable of working on multiple projects at the same time and properly prioritizing many tasks
•Familiarity with support/helpdesk ticketing systems
•Able to work evenings or weekends when the occasional need arises
•Reliable transportation for extensive local travel
