Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with strong product development experience to join our Systems Engineering Department at our headquarters location.

As an engineer in the systems engineering group, you will be a key problem solver and team member of cross-functional product development projects from concept to manufacturing. You will use expert technical skills to execute R&D product development activities to achieve project goals. You will leverage understanding of engineering principles, engineering methods, data and judgment to inform the course of product development activities.

Other responsibilities of the Engineering role include:

Applying technical expertise to contribute to test method development, implementation and validation for medical device/systems
Assessing design feasibility and testing product functionality and/or confirm product capabilities
Participating in new product design and design improvements to existing products
Participating in the evaluation and assessment of competitive products, processes and/or new trends
Engaging with the OEM’s to provide technical oversight and guidance on the evolution of the design
Designing experiments using DOE methodology and analyzing the test results using statistical tools
Interpreting the results correctly and provide feedback effectively for design improvement

Job Requirements

As an engineer in the systems engineering group, you must demonstrate ability to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other individuals and teams. Qualified candidates have strong design engineering, test development, and data analysis skills. You must have experience with requirements development from user needs, design transfer functions and risk management.

Other requirements of the Engineering role include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, Biomedical Engineering degree preferred
4 years minimum relevant experience as a product development engineer in medical devices or medical diagnostics
Design of Experiments (DOE) required
Understanding of fundamental statistics use of tools required
Complex System Instrument automation or scientific instrumentation required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a good background in product development process
Experience with hardware, software, disposables and fluidics
Experience with ISO requirements and GMP guidelines, FDA regulations, design control and manufacturing scale-up processes
Medical device experience, preferred
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience, a plus
Six Sigma certification, a plus
