Our client, a family owned business for over 100 years is currently looking for a Service Manager to take over responsibilities of their South Jersey Service Department. The Manager will be responsible for day to day operations of the facility which will include managing the shop floor, processing administrative functions and providing repair quotes to customers. The company offers sales and leasing options to logistics companies so a background with heavy duty transportation equipment or industrial equipment is required. A service manager's responsibility is managing the shop floor, processing administrative functions including processing payables, repair orders and providing repair quotes to customers. The service manager is also responsible for direct reports including assistant service manager and parts clerk. The manager is also responsible for aligning business objectives and customer demands.

Major Responsibilities:

-Manage preventive maintenance scheduling, monitoring repairs to assure trucks are repaired properly, quality of repairs and customer satisfaction
-Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products and personnel,
-Hire, train (w/assistance of company trainer), and evaluate personnel
-Assure that each direct report understands the company objectives
-Direct and supervise associates engaged in shop tasks, inventory taking, and assisting with customers and rental departments
-Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties.
-Projects and tasks assigned as assigned by management
-P&L responsible for maintenance and repairs

  Job Requirements  


At least (5) years•experience within the transportation industry
-Associates degree (business or technical) or Vo Tech graduate preferred
-Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point
-Strong written and oral communication and people management skills required
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
