Work for a Central New Jersey (Somerset, NJ) area manufacturing company.


Quality Inspector-Incoming Receiving:


Scope:
Under the direction of the Quality Manager or designee, the QA Inspector-Incoming Receiving is responsible for following defined QA procedures for incoming/outgoing inspection to ensure only acceptable raw materials and products are approved and accepted and that the QA tracking system is used for non-conforming raw materials and parts. Under the direction of the Production Manager, the QA Inspector/Receiver shall be responsible for receiving orders and taking care of associated paperwork and support shipping operation.


Responsibilities:
•Determine acceptability of material by comparing test/inspection results to specifications.
•Performs incoming inspection of raw materials and components following quality work instructions and documents for Receiving QA area.
•Performs final inspection on all orders according to quality work instructions and documents.
•Communicates receiving inspection issues to Engineering as needed.
•Demonstrate knowledge and use of all inspection tools.
•Complete and maintain written records, record files, and computer databases as required by SOP’s, Work Instructions, and Test Procedures.
•Interpret drawings, specifications, test methods, control plans and sampling plans as necessary.
•Clean and maintain work areas, gauges, equipment and instrumentation as scheduled or required.
•Communicate & cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency & safety.
•Inspect incoming material for proper part numbers and quantities.
•Verify and complete paperwork on incoming purchase orders.
•Use Receiving Flow Chart (QP-15-FC-02) as primary guide to performing receiving duties.
•Perform return to vendor QAD transactions.
•Receive, issue materials and close work orders on all sub-contracted work orders.
•Receive and manage RMA’s.
•Distribute materials received to proper areas.
•Support shipping department by: Packing orders for shipment. Help load and unload trucks. Palletize orders and shrink wrap and/or steel strap. Prepare paperwork for shipping. Prepare paperwork for shipping. Use UPS & Fed Ex scale and computer for shipping work orders..

•Report nonconformance condition (either product or process) to Manager and actively seek ways to improve either individually or as part of a team.
•Participate in self development and training of others.
•Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor
Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

•High school diploma or equivalent. A 2-year degree in Technology is desirable
•At least 2 years direct QC inspection experience required.
•Working knowledge of PC, good math skills and excellent written an oral communication skills necessary.
•Mechanical “hands-on” experience
•Able to work independently and as part of a team.
•Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
•Able to read, interpret and follow SOP’s, instructions, specifications AutoCAD drawings and reference materials.
•Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information
•Able to operate QA specific equipment and instrumentation necessary to fulfill job responsibilities
•Knowledge of QAD MRP system.
•Able to handle heavy, bulky items manually.
