Production Line Technician (Cosmetics)

Job purpose

•Line technicians ensure that performance and manufactured products meet or exceed efficiency and company quality standards
•Ensures that production facilities and processes conform to GMP Standards
•Ensures all workers are fully utilized in their assigned work stations

Duties and responsibilities
•Holds a position on a line in a work center.
•Technical expert of all primary and auxiliary equipment on the line.
•Responsible for leading the operation, housekeeping and preventive and autonomous maintenance (technical leader) of the assigned equipment/work center and achieving production completion targets.
•Lock Out Tag Out process leader.
•Performs changeovers, Start-up/Shut down checklist and quality checklist.
•Utilizes Code Request for Lot code details to set up equipment (Ink-jet printers, labelers, cartoners, etc.). Communicate errors to Area Facilitator to ensure such information gets verified and corrected prior production.
•Able to train new employees once the �Trainer•stage is reached in the Line Technician Skill Matrix.
•Redzone Productivity and Compliance module experts.
•Assists High Performance Line Leader with performing quality checks on the production line.
•Works closely with High Performance Work Teams and Area Leader during daily �huddles•to track safety, quality and live production, and ensures IOS Standard for Crew and Production Rate is reached every hour to meet customer's deadlines and quality standard.
•Responsible for the input and maintenance of downtime reason codes into Redzone (where Redzone is applicable).
•Leads efforts to troubleshoot immediately after an issue is identified; equipment uptime improvement leader.
•Equipment log book management and Set Up sheet owner.
•Subject matter expert of company's guidelines (SOP's and Standard Work) when: Operating Equipment, setting up, starting up, shutting down production lines, troubleshooting during and post production.
•Knowledge of equipment set up and machine changeovers (technical expert - trainable).
•Assists High Performance Work Teams to achieve quick change overs and contribute to production efficiency improvements.
•Autonomous maintenance subject matter expert and leader to ensure preventive maintenance on equipment is performed based on a Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
•Key player in the continuous improvement/Lean Manufacturing Technique implementations/practices (such as TPM, SMED, 5S, Andon, Poka Yoke), downtime tracking/reduction, department process flow, product/material flow, equipment modification projects, etc.

Qualifications
•Excellent English Communication Skills (able to read, understand and convey instructions in an efficient manner). Fluent in Spanish a plus.
•Strong Leadership abilities and initiative to perform the responsibilities described above.
•Self-motivated; Ability to work independent of supervision.
•Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
•Reliability, high sense of urgency while resolving issues.
•Customer focused; Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization, and with work assignments/projects.
•Ability to stand and move as needed to perform job duties for length of shift.
•Availability to contribute to departmental Continuous Improvement and training.
•Technical Mechanical Skills (trainable) and ability to use basic hand tools.
