Job Description

Title: Pharmaceutical Sales Director
Location: Cranbury, NJ

Pharmaceutical Sales Director - Responsibilities are to provide sales and marketing leadership and attain sales revenue targets. Principal duties and responsibilities include:

• Provide sales leadership and manage the business development group to achieve annual sales target.
• Provide marketing and promotion leadership to attract new business and communicate with our clients and prospects.
• Contribute to the strategic direction and maximize our competitive advantage in the marketplace.
• Develop key performance indicators and sales goals for business development group.
• Conduct routine performance reviews and identify and address sales training opportunities.
• Recruitment and development of business development managers.
• Initiate contact with client and perspective senior level managers and develop and maintain strategic business relationships.
• Provide necessary senior level support to the business development group to negotiate and close sales opportunities.
• Prepare and maintain forecast and annual sales plan.
• Identify and manage participation in pharmaceutical associations, trade shows, seminars, and conferences.
• Identify and communicate industry trends, growth opportunities and competitor intelligence.
• Develop a business development budget and plan and manage all business development activities to meet budgeted allowances.
• Participate in the negotiation of quotations, CDAs and MSAs and the efficient execution of these documents.
• Ability for regular and routine travel to clients, trade shows, seminars and meetings in corporate office.
• Maintain a dedicated business home office to carry out all job responsibilities in an efficient and professional manner while not traveling.
• Special projects and tasks as assigned.
• Follows all Corporate and Company SOP's and Policies.

  Job Requirements  


Education: College Degree required

• More than 10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
• Must have previous experience in the area of strategic planning, marketing and sales management.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:
• Experience with oral solid dosage development and manufacturing.
• Familiar with the principles of operation of oral solids pharmaceutical processing equipment.
• Understanding of the different phases and regulatory requirements for drug development and commercial production and current industry conditions and trends for the oral solid dosage market.

Additional Qualifications:
• Demonstrated business, management, marketing, negotiation, communication, presentation and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with a proven business development, marketing and sales management background.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Mathematical and reasoning ability.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in English furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to develop, manage and lead the business development group.
• Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Respirators for entering processing area.
• Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen.
