Summary - Market Manager (Metalworking)

The position provides technical in-field and inter-office support for key accounts and prospects within the metalworking market segments as well as supporting the sales team and metalworking business group. Technical support includes process start-ups, troubleshooting problems, creating presentations, and training. The ideal candidate assists in the launch and promotion of new technologies and product approvals/specifications.

Job Duties:
Customer Base Support
​-Provide technical support to customers via RSM’s, Sales Representatives
-Provide product recommendations in line with product strategy as outlined
-Coordinate training for key prospects, sales staff and end users
-Periodic audits for key accounts and for key prospects, intimately know Top 20 accounts
-Working with Business Manager, assess stability of the customer base and key accounts within the industry sector
-Working with the Business Manager and Metalworking Team help develop and implement customer -incremental improvement plans for key accounts

Prospect Base
​-Assist on the development and execution of presentations to key prospects
-Maintain current prospect list and target account list as updated by RSMs
-Working with Business Manager, RSMs, and field sales, develop and implement action plans for major metalworking prospects
-Provide sales team with qualified prospect lists and track progress
-Provide support to Sales Representatives throughout sales cycle
-Assist in field trials and start-ups, provide metalworking troubleshooting
-Provide product recommendations based on metalworking team’s keyline product line and/or unique application needs

Advertising, Product Literature and Other Marketing Collateral
​-Assist Business Manager and Metalworking team in generating and keeping product literature current
-In working with Business Manager and Metalworking Team, develop and implement advertising strategy to include trade journal ads, press releases, product literature, trade shows, and other promotional items
-Working with Metalworking Team, develop sales tools for the sales team
-Provide basic format product recommendations and operating instructions

Market Knowledge
-​Communicate to Metalworking Team and Technical Team on market trends and economic activity as observed in the field
-Assist in market research on competitive information
-Assist Business Manager by providing input on potential new products that are necessary to meet marketplace needs

Business Management
​-Work within the Metalworking Team as directed by the Business Manager to coordinate rollout of new technologies where and when applicable
-Provide information to the Business Manager in the development of the strategic market plan to meet financial objectives
-Provide monthly progress reports to Business Manager
-Collaborate with Business Manager, Market Managers, RSMs, and TSRs in activities to achieve sales and product objectives
-Perform other related business duties as assigned by management
-Develop and manage the Drawing and Stamping product line, in addition to providing ongoing support for the complete metalworking product line

Job Requirements

-B.S. Degree in Chemistry, business, and/or marketing required
-Industrial marketing experience to include 10+ years; preferably in specialty chemical sales
-Should have a firm understanding of his/her marketplace(s) and industry trends
-Ability to make presentations, proposals, advertisements, and other marketing collateral
-Well organized with business and management skills
-MS Office software computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) and data base development
-Excellent verbal written and analytical skills
