Job Description

Our client, located in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Senior Plant Manufacturing Engineer for our growing production. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to design, develop and continuously improve processes to find potential for improvement, then design new and improved production processes and implement them in production. This position will lead new manufacturing initiatives; the plant is operating in a changing market presenting the need for new manufacturing strategies that are outside the current process portfolio.

Individual Tasks

•Lead capital investment projects and manage them to achieve the planned outcome, timeline & budget
•Analyze processes to identify improvements
•Source new production equipment, tooling and support equipment by researching, testing & comparing multiple options
•Work with Production Development Group to start production on new products
•Support Production Management with analysis of processes which do not work as designed
•Document new and existing processes with work instructions to standardize, improve quality and improve training
•Support Product Management and Quality Control during failure analysis
•Lead feasibility studies to determine if certain concepts are worth implementing
•Participate in the continuous improvement process and 5S process
•Manage communication with Accounting. Prove them with necessary information regarding asset procurement, asset improvements, asset sales and spending on capital projects

  Job Requirements  

Requirements
•Bachelor degree in mechanical, industrial or process engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience
•Minimum two years related manufacturing or process engineer experience
•Six Sigma/Lean education
•Experience designing components and assemblies
•Experience managing capital projects
•Experience collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from large amounts of data
•Experience working with and leading multi-functional project teams
•CNC programming experience preferable
•Machining experience preferable

Special knowledge / skills

•Basic knowledge of CNC programs and the processes in a CNC control
•Understanding of CNC machining processes (grinding, turning, milling, deburring)
•Basic knowledge of injection molding processes
•Reading and creating manufacturing prints (GD&T constrains)
•Basic understating of cutting tool designs and styles used in turning and milling
•Understanding of robotic and automation principles
•Capable of using CAD (2D and if possible 3D) drawing program to sketch designs for components, work holding and make floor layouts
•Expert user ability with Microsoft Excel; ability to manipulate data with formulas and graph
