Position: Maintenance Mechanic / Technician
Location: Canton/Akron, OH

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic, whose primary job function will be to maintain production and quality by ensuring continuous and successful operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains and replenishes inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience with installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair in a production environment.
• Experience with troubleshooting malfunctions to locate the root cause of problems.
• Experience with equipment maintenance for engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Able to read and understand technical diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Able to install electrical conduits and wiring
• Able to install copper and PVC piping
• Able to repair End of Arm Tooling robotic components
• Any experience with injection molding machinery specifically is a big plus (REQUIRED for Technician level)
• Strong technical acumen and technical interest
• Good understanding of safety rules and regulations
• Experience using power tools
• Experience using measurement tools including voltage / ohm meter.
