Job Description

Job Title: Machine Shop Supervisor
Location: Lehigh County, PA

The Supervisor is responsible to plan and organize the daily activities for employees. Assure all employees work safely, accurately and efficiently. Execute production plans and monitor job run times. Ensure active communication with other production departments as needed.

• Review and understand department, organization, and company goals/ objectives to ensure positive results.
• Utilize ERP software to manage production schedules, work orders, maintain accurate inventory and periodically review inventory records to maintain a high level of accuracy within the system.
• Continually review processes within the department and make changes where necessary to increase efficiency, accuracy and eliminate waste.
• Examine defective processes, components, and machinery to determine root cause of malfunction and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Be proficient in the setup and safe operation of machines and equipment within the department.
• Train and direct workers in the operation of equipment, performing set-ups, and completion of first piece runs to validate fabricated components.
• Communicate and coordinate with Engineering, Quality and other support areas as production issues arise.
• Assist Drafting/Engineering Dept. as required in the creation or modification of drawings and machine programs.
• Manage first run production; make prototypes for production

  Job Requirements  


• Working knowledge of metal working equipment like press brake, CNC punch press, CNC milling machines, CNC turning centers, spot welders, grinders, PEM insertion, etc.
• Must possess a strong troubleshooting ability.
• 2+ years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years CNC programming; G Code, Metalix CNCKad, Metalix MBend or similar
• 2+ years CAD experience; Solid Edge and Fast Cad or similar
• Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Discipline is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus
