Job Description

The Linux / Network Administrator position requires skills relating to the
support, tuning, and administration of wired and wireless networks, and
the infrastructure/software required to manage and monitor them.

Specific Duties:

• Administration of (mostly Cisco) Layer 2 and 3 switches,
ASA firewalls, and WLCs required.
• Router administration at the junior level is desirable.
• NGFW (Cisco Next Generation Firewall)/FTD (FirePower
Threat Defense) experience is desirable.
• Experience with other devices like Dell, HP or Ubiquiti is
plus.
• Some experience with selection and specification of network
equipment for customers is required.
• Ongoing monitoring of network equipment with OSS or
commercial software from Linux and Windows servers.
• Implementation, configuration and monitoring of device
backups.
• Awareness and experience with cybersecurity tools to monitor
networks and respond to events.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and derived clone
distros like CentOS is required.
• Ongoing OS Support of customer and in-house systems
(patching, configuration, troubleshooting).
• Shell scripting - support of significant number of existing
shell scripts and related tools (cut, grep, sed, perl, awk).
• Support and extend script library and distribute updates.
• Automation of system and application monitoring tasks.
• Works closely with customer personnel and 3rd party
contractors, plus CCI office personnel (ie Team Player).
• Should have desire and potential for expanding into
consulting role for network and Linux design and architecture
Issues.
• Able to pass background check, obtain a TWlC, participate in
the DISA program (drug/alcohol), complete PSM (process
Safety Management) training.

  Job Requirements  

Experience
Required:
• 5 years of experience as a Linux / Network Admin.
Desired:
• 10 years of experience as a Linux / Network Admin.
• Microsoft technologies administration experience.
• Manufacturing plant experience is a definite plus.
• Chemicals/Petrochemicals even more so.

Education
Technical bachelor's degree (B.A.IE.S.) from four-year college or
university and 5 to 10 years of working experience, or 8 to 10
years related experience and/or training.

Location
• Initially not an office job; mostly local region day travel �50
miles). Intent is to shadow and assist a current LinuxlNetwork
Admin to learn the tools and familiarize with current clients.
• Some extended remote travel is required (days to a week, longer
only rarely).
• In the long term, the job will continue to have a day-travel
component to maintain customer presence.
• Requires work at and in plants; local and remote.

Hours
Full-time, Exempt, 40hrs/week, Some overtime and after hours
coverage will be required.
