Work for a national manufacturer & distributor of dairy products

Summary: Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for a candidate who is assertive and a self-starter who will work with our HR department. The human resource generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action, employment equity program, benefits management, and payroll functions. This candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Requirements:

-Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
-Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies
-Performs benefits administration including claims resolution and communicating benefits information to employees. Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process
-Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications, interviews)
-Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation etc. and resolve issues and problems
-Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database
-Maintains employee personnel files
-Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9
-Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
-Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
-Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
-Conducts new-hire orientation
-Completes special projects as required
-Answering phones
-Data entry
-Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent; Higher degree in a relevant discipline will be appreciated
-2-3 years of experience in human resources
-Good communication and organizational skills
-Attention to detail and accuracy
-Positive attitude and patient
-Professional phone etiquette
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
-Must be able to multi-task as well as prioritize multiple projects
-Must have a good attendance record
-Bi-lingual in Spanish/English is preferred

-9:00am – 5:00pm Monday-Friday (Some Saturdays & Travel Required)
