Job Description

A leading Aerospace Machine Shop is looking for an experienced Engineering Estimator to help continue the company's smooth and efficient flow of work through customer contact, quoting new and repeat opportunities as well as working with programming and floor supervision on methods and order of operations.

Responsibilities:

•Responding to requests for quote for key customers on high quality critical parts in a timely manner.
•From drawings identify material, blank size and any tooling required.
•Under direction of the Vice President negotiate price, lot size and price breaks, estimating production time for direct labor and with purchasing support estimate cost of direct material as well as outside processes.
•Support Quality supervisor in the interface with customer quality contacts.
•Provide direction to purchasing for outside operations (i.e. Heat treat, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, plating, grinding, Electronic Discharge machining, gun drilling)
•Provide input to mill and lathe programmers in determining the method of manufacture on intricate parts based on the quote and estimates made at time of bidding.
•Provide guidance on the design of required fixtures or custom tooling to be used in the manufacture and inspection of parts as included in the bid submitted.
•As required determine the method of inspection on intricate parts in conformance with quote.
•Work with VP of division to develop and improve procedures and processes across all departments.
•Perform other tasks as required by President of Company.

  Job Requirements  

Requirements:

•Engineering Estimator must be thoroughly familiar with CNC equipment operation, setup and programming.
•Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001:2015 required
•Ability to read shop drawings required.
•A minimum of fifteen years•experience in a CNC shop is preferred with management and customer contact responsibility desirable.
•Familiarity with shop tools and measuring equipment.
•Knowledge and proficiency in programming CNC Machines.
•Proficient in shop math and geometric tolerances and dimensions.
•Ability to communicate clearly is necessary.
