Job Description

Primary Job Functions:
1.Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, DOT, etc.)
2.Develops, implements, and maintains EHS programs and SOPs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
3.Supports regulatory agency inspections, periodic client and internal audits, and EHS compliance program inquires.
4.Works collaboratively with managers and supervisors on building a strong and positive safety culture across multi-departmental functions, including Production, Maintenance, Engineering, QA/QC, Regulatory Affairs, etc.
5.Manages EHS venders and program support services, including medical surveillance, safety shoe and glasses, and PPE supplies, First Aid cabinets, etc.
6.Develops and administers the EHS training program, including the new hire orientation training as needed.
7.Coordinates the First Aid, CPR, AED, BBP, and Oxygen awareness training events with outside vender.
8.Assists with incident investigations and reporting, and the identified corrective action resolution efforts.
9.Facilitates the Site Safety Committee meetings and action item completion tracking.
10.Conducts periodic EHS site inspections for continued compliance verification and gap closure confirmation.
11.Oversees the servicing and calibration of EHS instrumentation, including PID meter, sound meter and IH equipment.
12.Monitors bulk tank truck deliveries in coordination with the Purchasing and Production departments.
13.Manages Stormwater BMPs and SPCC compliance practices, including periodic SPP and SPCC plan revision efforts and improvement opportunities.
14.Maintains the MSDS On-Line database, the OSHA Hazardous Chemicals List, and GHG label software database.
15.Performs regular updates to employee rosters associated with evacuations, the Emergency Notification System, and medical surveillance program.
16.Participates in the department or management meetings where EHS representation is required.
17.Assists with environmental compliance program efforts, including air, water, waste, and discharge pollution prevention.
18.Supports the waste management program requirements and waste handling responsibilities, as needed.
19.Ability to move or lift over 50 pounds.
20.Perform other duties as assigned.

  Job Requirements  

•Successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in science, engineering or EHS-related field.
•4 - 8 years•in EHS Department program management and regulatory compliance
•Working knowledge and experience with EPA, NJDEP, OSHA and DOT regulations
•Strong internal customer support orientation with interpersonal, motivational, and influence skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with public speaking experience for training
•Highly attentive to detail with excellent organizational skills
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills with experience in risk identification and mitigation
•Able to perform position responsibilities with limited supervision and has effective time management capabilities
