Job Description


Is a key member of the account management team and reports to the Facility Manager. This position is accountable for providing continuous operations, optimal customer relations, operations and maintenance management for the assigned high profile critical facilities data center in a cost-effective manner.


Provides high quality operations and maintenance to assure proper performance of facility equipment and systems supporting the infrastructure

Acts as liaison with all customer departments, actively ensuring that service is prompt, responsive, effective and that inter-departmental concerns are addressed and resolved

Provides regular monthly written status reports to Facility Manager, presents ad hoc status reports as necessary to keep customer management conversant with atypical occurrences, unusual staffing challenges, potential building related interruptions, etc.

Provides recommendations with assistance from Facility Manager on the annual facility operating budget and reports exceptions to the Facility Manager

Helps to ensure that federal, state and local regulatory requirements are met including EPA, OSHA, NFPA, IEEE, ADA, etc

Schedules and coordinates work priorities to meet contractual obligations and established Key Performance Indicators

Recommends what work should be performed in-house and what work should be subcontracted; consults with Facility Manager and/or external technical resources when making decisions on major changes

Ensures that reactive and preventive maintenance activities are appropriately balanced; monitors current and deferred maintenance backlogs; adjusts priorities and/or resources as needed and ensures that deferred maintenance is adequately documented

Utilizes maximum capabilities of Maximo or customer workorder control system, ensures that all appropriate data is entered into the Maximo system in a timely and accurate manner

Monitors facility quality standards

Reviews completed work regularly and ensures that quality standards are met or exceeded to the satisfaction of the customer

Monitors service contracts to ensure compliance, addresses and resolves contract disputes

Develops and negotiates minor construction contracts as assigned

Ensures that staff receives adequate technical, administrative and other training; participates in training of direct subordinates

If applicable, ensures that labor contract requirements are met; makes routine contract interpretations as required; and maintains a harmonious working relationship with union representatives, organizes and participates in facility audit activities

  Job Requirements  

Shifts Needed:

1) Monday - Friday, 6am to 330pm (hands on electrical & HVAC experience in critical environment required)
2) Monday - Friday, 12pm to 830pm (need to have documentation, computer skills)


Demonstrated customer service orientation and skills

Working knowledge of two or more of the mechanical, electrical, general building maintenance, building construction or electronics crafts. Where there is not a working knowledge, a demonstrated aptitude is required.

Demonstrated expertise in verbal and written communications

Knowledge of Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and data base computer management systems

Demonstrated willingness to work non-standard days and hours as required
