Job Description

Our client, located in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a CNC Setup Operator 1 on 3rd shift (9:55PM - 6:05AM) who is a career-minded individual looking for long-term growth and potential for our growing team.
The CNC Setup Operator 1 Sets up and Operates multi-axis CNC Milling and/or Turning Center to mill and/or turn surfaces of metallic or polymer work pieces of one or more styles of machine/turning centers.

  Job Requirements  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Inserts work piece in machine spindle and secures the work piece by properly placing it in the jaw or spindle with key.
•Retracts spindle and loads and secures first preset tool and holder.
•Starts machine and observes cutting operation.
•Compares completed work piece with blueprint with regards to specific metric measurements based on pre-determined inspection cycle for the product.
•Alerts lead of any non-compliant completed work piece prior to continuing production.
•Accurately completes required quality and production control documents.
•May replace milling tools with drilling and boring tools at specified change points to reduce or eliminate subsequent machining of work piece on another machine.
•Setting new tooling and offsetting tool/program as required.
•Adjusts offsets to reflect non finished part dimensions.
•Repeats the operation of the machine to complete the job order.
•Notifies lead of any unusual occurrences with the machine, tooling or work piece.
•Performs basic machine maintenance functions.
•Follows all safety procedures regarding the proper operation of the machine.
•Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications:
2 or more years of CNC Machinist experience required
•Strong knowledge in Programming (G&M Code)
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Knowledge of manual machining required
