Job Description

Our client, located in Fort Lauderdale is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. The role will have the opportunity to design the future operations of the plant. This role is a key success factor to achieve the plant's mission for profitable growth and significantly contributing to the divisional and Strategic Business Unit's annual and mid-range goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead capital investment projects and manage them to achieve the planned outcome, the timeline and budget of the project
- Analyze processes to see how they could be improved. Find multiple improvement options, compare them towards the desired future state and guide the decision on which option will be implemented.
- Source new production equipment, tooling and support equipment by researching and testing multiple options and comparing them
- Work with the product development group to start production on new developed products
- Support production management with analysis of processes that do not work as designed (trouble shooting)
- Document new and existing processes with work instructions in order to define processes to improve quality and improve training
- Support product management and quality control with support during failure analysis on parts
- Lead feasibility studies to see if certain concepts are worth implementing or not.
- Share knowledge and experience with coworkers in different countries and learn from their experiences in order to improve local processes and standardize production processes worldwide
- Be part of the continuous improvement process and the 5S process of the plant as a team member and team leader
- Manage the communication with accounting. Provide them with the necessary information of asset procurement, asset improvements and asset sales and spending on capital projects
Technical Knowledge requirements:
- Understanding of production processes like cutting, molding, forming or assembly
- Basic knowledge of how CNC programs work
- Basic knowledge of injection molding processes
- Knowledge of how to read and create manufacturing prints (dimensioning and geometric constrains)
- Hands on experience how to measure and control parts towards prints
- Basic understanding of cutting tool designs and styles used in turning and milling would be preferable
- Understanding of robotic and automation principles
- Knowledge on how to organize and manage multiple initiatives at the same time
- Capable of using CAD (2D and if possible 3D) drawing programs to sketch designs for components, work holding and make floor layouts
- Knowledge of how to lead projects with members in different functions that do not report to the role or its management
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products and ability to format and manipulate data in excel with formulas and graphs
- Knowledge how to analyses manufacturing processes to identify waste like (losses in quality, capacity)

Job Requirements

Education and Functional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in mechanical, industrial or process engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Minimum two years related manufacturing or process engineer experience or combination of education and experience.
- Six sigma/lean education
- Some CNC machining experience would be preferable
- Some CNC programming experience would be preferable
- Experience with working and leading multifunctional and if possible multinational project teams
- Experience with collecting big amounts of data, analyzing it and drawing conclusions
- Experience in designing components and assemblies
- Experience managing capital projects
