Job Description:

Technology company is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join the team in our New Castle, Delaware facility. Regional candidates are preferred. This position will be responsible for conducting engineering calculations, specifying equipment and starting up various chemical processes. Candidate will work in a team environment and lead in support of created engineered solutions and troubleshooting of existing designs.

The Chemical Process Engineer duties include but are not limited to:

•Lead the development of conceptual designs, requirements, vendor integration, bid packages and quotations for material handling and chemical process equipment.
•Develop required documents per customer standards (electrical panels, P&IDs, loop sheets, and system architecture).
•Identify and analyze design changes and modify documents accordingly.
•Perform critical analysis of production processes and procedures for potential cost, quality, safety, reliability, and process efficiency opportunities. Develop action plans to address.
•Develop SOPs that are accurate, properly maintained and implemented.
•Manage technical vendor/supplier relationships and performance.
•Work collaboratively with Company partners, suppliers and owners to plan and execute work packages. Develop SOWs, schedules and budgets in support of project proposals/work packages.
•Assist with maintenance activities ensuring Operational requirements are met.
•Understand of Federal and State EPA, OSHA, PSM, EHS and DOT transportation regulations
•Monitors and controls technical project scope against the project plan and Functional & Detailed Design Specifications,
•Monitoring progress and performance of engineering contractor / equipment vendors during the execution of work
•Inspect equipment at the factory to ensure compliance with specifications and procurement documentation.
•Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary.
•Lead Factory acceptance testing for customers
•Precommissioning, Commissioning and startup support to operations.


•Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
•Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in Chemical Processing with continuous operations involving flammable chemicals.
•Project management experience with separation and dewatering process equipment (centrifuges, pumps, presses) and their supporting utilities (boilers, chillers, etc.) is required.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong computer skills are required including proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with MS Project and Visio is very helpful but not required.
•Experience with controls systems design and at least one controls programming suite (e.g., Delta V, Allen Bradley, etc.) is required.
•Experience with statistical process control (SPC) is strongly desired. Ability to apply statistical calculations (e.g., calculation of means, averages, ranges, deviations, control limits, etc.) and principles (e.g., generation of graphs, charts, etc.) is required.
•Excellent mechanical skills’ including the ability to manipulate common hand tools is required.
•Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with guidance on priority in order to meet established deadlines.
•Respond positively and effectively to rapidly changing priorities and departmental needs.
•Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead by example.
•Working knowledge of the chemistry, chemical process utilities, process industry equipment, and process industry service providers.
•Must have the skills and experience to evaluate chemical process yields, material usage efficiency, cycle times, capacities and asset
•Takes initiative and follows through on tasks.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
•Willingness to grow with the company and accept new challenges.
