Area Leader (Production Supervisor)

Job purpose

•Area Leaders ensure that performance and manufactured products meet or exceed efficiency and company quality standards
•Ensures that production facilities and processes conform to GMP Standards
•Ensures all workers are fully utilized in their assigned work stations
•Major focus on Lean Manufacturing.

Duties and responsibilities
•Responsible for all operations of the assigned production area and achieving SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets.
•Functional knowledge of Production reporting and Work Order Management in E1, accuracy is a must.
•Identifies any personnel conflict issues and resolutions; escalates to Production Management for corrective actions.
•Maintain stock for daily consumables (such as oil, alcohol, sponges, etc.) and PPE inventory for designated area.
•Ability to assign tasks/work duties based on personnel abilities and capabilities. Constant evaluation of line personnel.
•Ability to train employees on internal processes (using SOP's and Standard Work).
•Redzone Productivity and Compliance module experts.
•Performs daily �huddles•to track safety, quality and live production, and ensures IOS Standard for Crew and Production Rate is reached every hour to meet customer's deadlines, schedule attainment and quality standard.
•Action Management in the Action Register area of Redzone.
•Ability to communicate and escalate unresolvable issues to the appropriate personnel (Production Manager) using EFF-CON process (Efficiency, Condition, Communication and Response Process).
•Understands and follows company's guidelines (SOP's) when: Reviewing production documentation, setting up production lines, during and post production.
•Functional Knowledge of all manufacturing process in their respective areas (such as changeover checklist, startup/shut down checklists, quality processes, equipment operation, etc).
•Attends daily operations meetings with Area Facilitators, Production Management, Planning, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance regarding scheduling, line performance, customer's demand, upcoming programs and priority adjustments.
•Participate in cross functional team for early equipment management and automation solutions.
•Key player in the continuous improvement/Lean Manufacturing Technique implementations/practices (such as TPM, SMED, 5S, Andon, Poka Yoke), downtime tracking/reduction, department process flow, product/material flow, equipment modification projects, etc.
•Conduct internal process audits as well as Redzone and 5's audits.
•Measuring and tracking KPI's within Redzone and publishing Daily Production Reports.
•Conducts Performance Management Reviews (PMR).
•Skill set gap evaluation and improvement plans every 3 months.
•Other duties as assigned.

  Job Requirements  

•Excellent English Communication Skills (able to read, understand and convey instructions in an efficient manner). Fluent in Spanish a plus.
•Ability to run all machines in the production area and perform all checks on the line.
•Strong Leadership abilities and initiative to perform the responsibilities described above.
•Self-motivated and organized; Ability to work independent of supervision.
•Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
•Reliability, high sense of urgency while resolving issues.
•Customer focused; Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization, and with work assignments/projects.
•Ability to stand and move as needed to perform job duties for length of shift.
•Availability to contribute to departmental Continuous Improvement and training.
•Technical Mechanical Skills (trainable) and ability to use basic hand tools.
•Functional knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
